6. A NOTE from NAYON:

What a fantastic day for a Fiesta! Piyesta Pinoy 2013 at Navy Pier in Chicago was a blast!  A big thanks to our friends at PACF (Philippine American Cultural Foundation) for inviting us to participate. We at Nayon love being included in these big Filipino events because we not only get to experience what our cultural peers are doing through dance, food, crafts and education. But more notably, it’s wonderful to see all the families come out to enjoy and celebrate our Filipino culture.

7. From Artnana:

The second annual Philippine Fest was held at Navy Pier’s Crystal Garden on March 24, 2013. Despite the biting wind and cold temperatures outside a tropical paradise awaited one and all inside.

“It was indeed a successful event. To be invited to showcase our arts and cultural heritage at this prestigious event is a big honor. Through this event, we hope to be able to make our roots known to American-born Filipinos and other ethnic groups that may not be familiar with our heritage. I believe there was an enthusiastic turnout and the performances were truly exemplary. I am confident that this event at the Crystal Gardens brings the Filipino-American community together,"
